Bankruptcy for Kansas and Missouri

Every year, millions of people feel the strain of the economy and have hardships that cause them to fall behind on their financial obligations or become burdened with debt. If you are falling behind financially, please contact us.

We encourage you to seek our assistance when you first become aware that you are falling behind and need help. Too often, people lose thousands of dollars from garnishments, struggle in unrealistic repayment plans or sink further into debt before contacting an attorney. Others face unnecessary foreclosures or repossessions. Do not make that mistake. While bankruptcy is not for everyone, it should be considered. At the Law Office of Michael J. McVay, we will provide you with an honest opinion as to your best option. We work hard to respectfully represent those who find themselves in financial difficulty. Our emphasis is on individual attention and customer service.

There are primarily two types of bankruptcies available to consumer debtors: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. These bankruptcies are very different.

A Chapter 7 is what we call a liquidation and is intended for persons who are unable to pay a substantial amount of their debt back.

Chapter 13 is a wage earner plan that allows you to pay some or all of your debt back.

Please see the appropriate page for more information on Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
